Harvest Sunday - 11th October

On Sunday 11th October we meet for Harvest Sunday - an annual opportunity to give thanks God for all that he gives us in our day to day lives.

We are encouraging members to take the opportunity to contribute to the United Appeal of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland - an appeal that supports the mission work of the church around Ireland and Overseas. Sovereign Over Us

There are times in the life of a church when certain themes seem to emerge. Themes that keep on rising to the surface as we worship and study the Bible together week by week. Recently I have been struck by a recurring emphasis on what is sometimes referred to as ‘the Sovereignty of God’ – the big idea that no matter what is going on (in our lives / in the church / in the world) God is not only in control but God is also at work, working out His big purposes, in Christ, to bring salvation and healing into a lost and broken world.

This Sunday - 20th September

This Sunday we meet at 11am and 7pm. At our 11am service we have Beginners Sunday School (Pre-School), Primetime (Primary), Bible Class (Yr 8-12) and a fully supervised creche. Praise will be led by our Praise Group. We are in the second part of our series 'Citizens of Heaven' looking at Philippians 1 vs 12-26. In these very verses Paul describes and reflects upon his situation in prison.

This Sunday - 13th September

This Sunday we meet at 11am and 7pm. At our 11am service we are beginning our autumn series entitled 'Citizens of Heaven.' Our plan is, between now and mid December, to work through the New Testament book of Philippians. If you want to read ahead for this Sunday you will find it helpful to look at Acts 16 vs 6-40 as well as Philippians 1 vs 1-11. The Acts section tells the story of the birth of the church in Philippi. This story has a very modern feel to it as diverse people find their hearts opened to the truth of Jesus.

This Sunday - 6th September

As another term begins this Sunday is a day of new beginnings.

At our 11am service we will be bidding farewell to our Assistant Minister, Mark Dodds, Claire and the family as they prepare to begin ministry in Eglish and Castlecaulfield Presbyterian Churches. Watch out for a guest appearance by the Ballyhenry Puppets, music with our Praise Group and a cup of tea after the service. Mark and Claire have been a real blessing to us in Ballyhenry and we look forward to sharing this special time with them.
