This Sunday - 6th September

As another term begins this Sunday is a day of new beginnings.

At our 11am service we will be bidding farewell to our Assistant Minister, Mark Dodds, Claire and the family as they prepare to begin ministry in Eglish and Castlecaulfield Presbyterian Churches. Watch out for a guest appearance by the Ballyhenry Puppets, music with our Praise Group and a cup of tea after the service. Mark and Claire have been a real blessing to us in Ballyhenry and we look forward to sharing this special time with them.

Then at 7pm we meet for a special Commissioning Service for two of our members Ricky Ferguson and Lorna Morrison. Ricky has recently taken up post as NI Church Engagement Team Leader with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and will be joining his wife Marlene who already works in a part time role with the Church Engagement Team. Lorna has been appointed as North West Regional Staff Worker with IFES Ireland. Mission has been close to the heart of Ballyhenry for many years and we are very thankful to be able to commission two of our members in this way.

The Cape Town Committment (a key document in the global mission of the Church) talks about how mission involves an attitude of dependance and expectation. As we give thanks for mission accomplished (Mark's ministry among us) and stand with Ricky and Lorna as new ventures in mission begin we do so in dependence upon God, expectent for what He can do among us, and to the far corners of the world.
