Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday we gather in Ballyhenry for morning worship at 11am. Our service will include an act of Remembrance as we remember the men and women from across these islands who gave their lives in two world wars and in conflicts since. We will be turning to the book of Psalms as we reflect upon the question of 'Is there hope for this world?' As usual our service will include a supervised creche, full children's provision and teenage Bible Class.

This coming Sunday (29th October) we look forward to Ricky and Marlene Ferguson speaking at our morning service on their continued work with Wycliffe Bible Translators. As a church family we very much appreciate the work that Ricky and Marlene do and it will be good to hear from them. In the evening Niall will be speaking on the second part in a short series in the Old Testament book of Zephaniah in a talk entiled The Lord is with you.

This weekend in Ballyhenry is our special Wholehearted weekend, and we would love you to join with us at 11am and 7pm for two special services. Our guest speaker, at both services, is Bishop Ken Clarke and we are really looking to sharing the weekend with he and his wife Helen.

Recently on Sunday mornings we have been working our way through a series on 1 Corinthians. This morning (15/10/17) we read from the second half of 1 Corinthians 7 seeing how the apostle Paul spoke to those who were currently unmarried.

This Sunday morning (11am) we meet for Morning Worship in Ballyhenry, where as ever our service includes a full children's provision and supervised creche. This week we make a return visit to 1 Corinthians 7, for Part 2 of of 'A Question of Identity'. Our focus this week will be on verses 8-9 and 12-40. Watch out also this week for a new song to learn ahead of next week's Wholehearted Weekend.
