Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday we gather in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm to celebrate Harvest Thanksgiving.

At 11am we welcome as our guest speaker Mr David Morrison. David is a student at Union Theological College and we have enjoyed having David with us before. There will be a full children's provision (including supervised creche) and teenage Bible Class.

At 7pm Niall is due to speak on Psalm 65 - words that focus us in on God's goodness at this season of the year. (There will also be a prayertime at 6.30pm).

This Sunday we meet for our morning service at 11am. This week we have the next in our series 'Everyday Disciples' working our way through the New Testament book of 1 Corinthians. On Sunday we arrive in 1 Corinthians 7 under the title 'Identity Matters.' This is a chapter that raises lots of real life issues - do take the time to read ahead and to pray that the Holy Spirit will lead and teach as we come to this text.

Praise Group will be playing and there will be a full children's provision (creche and Primetime) plus our teenage Bible Class.

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm. Our 11am service takes us into the next part of 1 Corinthians. Our title this week is 'A Difficult Conversation' looking at 1 Corinthians 5 vs 1-13. Then in the evening (7pm) we look forward to hearing from John and Anne Acheson as they share their experiences of visiting various towns and cities in the South during the summer with the band Reality, in summer outreach.

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm. At our 11am service we pick up on the next part of Paul's letter to the church in the city of Corinth. Our focus this week will be on 1 Corinthians 3 vs 1-17. In these verses Paul warns against Christian immaturity. It was a number of years since many of the Corinthians had been 'born again' (to use a phrase that Jesus used) but they hadn't grown up. We'll also be exploring themes from within the passage of what it means to be a 'servant' and how the church is God's field, His building and His Temple.

Details coming soon on our Wednesday night programme for autumn term 2017
