Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry for our morning service at 11am and for our evening service at 7pm.

In the morning we come to the final part of the story of Solomon. Our title this week (based on 1 Kings 11) is 'Solomon's Crash' - a sobering account of how Solomon's life ended in a tragic decline. We'll be teasing out lessons from this and seeing how this story fits into to the overall 'big story' that the Bible tells.

This week we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm. At our morning service Niall is due to speak on the next part of our series on the life and times of Solomon - looking this week at 1 Kings 9-10. (Morning service as usual has a full children's provision and supervised creche).

This coming Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm.

Our 11am service will include a focus on 'Serving the Persecuted Church' with one of our own members (Susan Reid) giving the main talk. We also have a supervised creche, full children's provision and teenage Bible Class at this service.

Then at 7pm we have March's 'Prayer Central'. This monthly gathering gives us a great opportunity to pause, pray together and 'reset' at the beginning of a new month, acknowledging our reliance on the Lord and looking to Him for all that we need.

This week in Ballyhenry we have 'home and away' components to our Sunday schedule.

At 11am we have our annual Thinking Day Service when girls from Rainbows, Brownies and Giurl Guides will be taking part in our service.

Then at 7pm we weclome a guest speaker who will talking to us about new work starting up in Cambodia among children and young people.

Do be encouraged to join with us, and if you are visiting be assured of a warm welcome. Our morning service includes a fully supervised creche.

Earlier today the evangelist Billy Graham died at the age of 99. It is estimated that in his lifetime he preached in person to 210 million people. The following is a story about Billy Graham that I heard not so long ago.
