Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry for our annual Harvest Services. Our Praise Group will be leading in special music at both of these services. Niall is due to speak at our 11am service and Steve Gaston (Accredited Preacher Candidate) will be speaking at 7pm. As usual there is a full children's provision at our 11am service, including supervised creche and teenage Bible Class. There will be a prayer time at 7pm.

Also this week folks are invited to stay after the morning service for a light lunch - an opportunity to share in friendship and fellowship together.

This Sunday we meet together in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm.

At 11am we step out of our Daniel series for a single talk on Psalm 131. This short Psalm was originally sung by people in Old Testament times when they were on their way to church (the Temple). We are going to take our time to read through this Psalm and to find how it speaks to all of us as we make our way through the changing seasons and circumstances of life. Our Praise Group will be leading our music, and we will have a full children's provision, creche, and teenage Bible Class.

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry for our morning and evening services at 11am and 7pm.

At 11am we pick up the next part of our series in the book of Daniel entitled 'The God we Serve'. This Sunday we welcome a guest speaker, Rev David Bruce. David has been with us before in Ballyhenry and will be leadng us through Daniel 3 vs 1-30. It's the story of the 'Blazing Furnace' - three friends remaining faithful to God in the face of enormous pressure to conform to the demands of a powerful king and culture.

This Sunday we are meeting in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm.

At our 11am service we will be picking up the second in our talks on the book of Daniel. We will be looking at Daniel 2 vs 1-49 in a chapter where Nebuchadnezzar has a dream that no one is able to explain. No one that is apart from Daniel. Watch out particularly for how the theme of 'friendship' underpins this particular part of the story. As usual our service includes praise led by our Praise Group, supervised creche, children's provision and teenage Bible Class.

This Sunday (16th) we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm.

At our 11am service we welcome Rick Hill, PCI's Discipleship Development Officer. Rick fronted the recent Essentials materials which looked at the the theme of 'Everday Discipleship'. This will be Rick's theme on Sunday and we are really looking forward to his visit. Morning service, as usual, includes full children's provision, supervised creche and teenage Bible Class.
