Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday in Ballyhenry we meet for worship at 11am and 7pm. At our morning service we will be beginning a new series entitled 'The God we Serve'. In this series we will be looking at the story of Daniel - how he and his friends not only survived but thrived in a lifetime of living in exile. Our morning services include music with our Praise Group, a supervised creche, full children's provision and teenage Bible Class.

Mums and Toddlers

In November of last year Sally Lloyd-Jones author of the Jesus Storybook Bible visited Ballyhenry.

The award winning Jesus Storybook Bible tells the story beneath all stories in the Bible. Sally is a New York Times bestselling author and the Bible is also illustrated by award winning artist Jago. The Jesus Storybook Bible invites readers of all ages to discover for themselves that Jesus is the centre of God's great story of salvation - and at the centre of their story too.

Our annual Meet the Neighbours Day takes place this year on Saturday 18th August from 12pm - 4pm.

Meet the Neighbours has become a well established and appreciated fixture in our local community's diary. A whole range of things are lined up for this year including live bands, BBQ, tea and buns, Mantella Zoo, bouncy castles, face painting and pampered ponies. Our facilities this year include a seated marquee so there's lots to do whatever the weather!

'Who's New at Ballyzoo' is the name of this year's Ballyhenry Holiday Club which runs from Monday 13th - Friday 17th August.

Holiday Club begins each evening at 6.30pm running through to 8.15pm. There's lots to enjoy, and to learn, for children going into P1, through to those leaving P7. Bible based activities will include games, quizzes, memory verses, small group work and music.

Admission is free. Children can be registered on the first evening of attendance and should be left off / collected by an adult.
