Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm. Our 11am service will see us pick up the second part of a series entitled 'Calling Christian Leaders'. In the context of an upcoming election of elders we'll be thinking about how the church needs leaders who can work well together as a team, oversee the life of the church and cast a vision. After our service we will have a short Annual Congregational Meeting. As usual our morning service will include a full children's provision / teenage Bible Class and a supervised creche.

This Sunday we welcome our Eggshell Cambodia Team home from their time in Cambodia. As well as having 11 folks 'on the ground' this has been a team that has drawn in many many people from within Ballyhenry and beyond. We really look forward to sharing in this time of thanksgiving and reporting back. Do be encouraged to join with us and share the invitation.

Then at 7pm we meet for a Praise Service where our Praise Group will be leading us and Niall will also be sharing a reflection based on Psalm 33. There will be opportunity also to meet for prayer at 6.30pm.

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm. At 11am we have our annual 'Tearfund Service'. Tearfund is a long established key partner of Ballyhenry in our commitment to global mission. This year we will be thinking about the values and ethos of Tearfund and reminding ourselves of their work around the world. Our service will be followed by lunch together - no need to pre-book - just join us! Our morning service includes supervised creche and a full children's provision.

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am for our annual Guide Thinking Day Service. On Sunday we will be joining with girls, family and friends, from our Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. The girls will be taking part and our guest speaker will be Laura Hutcheson-Magee. The service will finish up with tea / coffee / juice. You will be really welcome. If you're not used to coming along to church be assured of a warm welcome. For parents / friends / visitors there is no 'dress code' and the service will last about 1 hour 15 mins.

Recently a new sign has appeared at the Sandyknowes Roundabout welcoming people to Glengormley. This Sunday we would love to welcome you to Ballyhenry. At our 11am service we have a mixture of praise and Bible teaching as well as a full children's provision / teenage Bible Class and supervised creche.

This Sunday we are looking together at the question 'How do I become a Christian?'

7pm gives an additional opportunity to meet together. This week Matthew Horner, a student for the ministry, will be speaking at our service. There is also a time of prayer at 6.30pm.
