Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday we have our annual Children's Day and Church Pic Nic - with our service beginning at 11am. As ever we look forward to the children from Prime Time and Beginners' Sunday School leading us through our service. This service is very much 'all age' though we will have a supervised creche running throughout.

Our Pic Nic will be outside (if dry) and inside (if wet)!

Then at 7pm we gather for June's Prayer Central - opportunity to pause and seek God's leading and presence in all that is to come in the month ahead.

You will be very welcome!

This Sunday we meet together in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm.

A 11am our Pastoral Assistant Rev Ronnie Hetherington will be speaking on the topic 'Grace'. Ronnie's ministry is always really appreciated and we look forward to him speaking with us. Niall will also be doing a short interview with Noeleen focusing on our 'Refuge Night' (Cafe Converstaions) which is coming up on the evening of Tuesday 28th. As ever we have full children's provision (including supervised Creche / Primetime / Teenage Bible Class) and music led by our Praise Group.

Voting members are reminded that this Sunday is the final opportunity to participate in our election of new elders. Signed voting papers can be returned via the box in the Welcome Area at either our morning or evening service.

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry at 11am and 7pm. Our 11am service is our annual 'PW Service' with guest speaker Rachel Cubitt (this service includes a full children's provision and supervised creche). Our evening service will be led by Richard Hill, and is preceded by a prayer time at 6.30pm.

Voting Members of the congregation are also reminded to return voting papers (for our electon of new elders) either this Sunday (28th) or next Sunday (5th May), via the box in the Welcome Area.

Our Easter Weekend begins in Ballyhenry on Friday 19th at 8pm with our Good Friday Communion Service. We are looking forward to welcoming new members who will be affirming their faith publicly in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord for the first time. Through bread and wine, special music and a Bible based talk we will be reflecting together on the the personal significance of the cross. Our service will be followed by a light supper and time for a chat.
