Psalm 38 is entitled ‘A Petition’. That word has an urgency to it, a sense of intensity, but also a sense of hope. You only ‘petition’ someone who believe has the power, and the will, to help you.

We've asked one of our members, Lisa Little, to write a prayer that we can use at the beginning of each new day. Thank you Lisa for writing this for us.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your great love and faithfulness, especially at such times as these as it brings us comfort and strength to know that you are with us every step of this journey. We pray that you would comfort those who are isolated or feel alone, scared and confused by events. We pray that those that need help are reaching out for it and getting the support they need.

Are you coping at the moment? If someone was to ask you that I wonder what you would say? When things are tough, when things are uncertain, when all around us there is a sense of not knowing, we can find ourselves struggling to cope. Psalm 37 is a Psalm to comfort and steady someone who wasn’t coping with the situation they found themselves living in.
