Sandyknowes Blog

Living beside the busiest roundabout in Northern Ireland gives plenty of opportunity for watching the world go by. Sandyknowes Blog is the personal blog of Niall Lockhart (minister of Ballyhenry). Pull in and have a read…

This Sunday we would love to welcome you to Ballyhenry.

At 11am we have our Children's Nativity which will be led by the children of Beginners' Sunday School and Primetime. The service includes a supervised creche.

Then at 5.30pm we have our Carols by Candlelight Service. This has become a much appreciated annual event when friends, neighbours and family gather for our service which is followed by mince pies and a cup of tea. A warm welcome for all the community!

This Sunday morning (11th December) we meet for morning worship in Ballyhenry at 11am. Our service will be led by Mr Trevor Long. Trevor is currently involved with the church's Auxiliary Ministry Scheme, and we have enjoyed his visits to Ballyhenry in the past. Our 11am service, as usual, includes supervised creche, Beginners' Sunday School / Primetime and teenage Bible Class.

This Sunday morning (11am) we have a visit from David Morrison. David is training to be a minister and has been with us on a number of occassions.

This Sunday morning we haev been invited to host BBC Radio Ulster's 'Morning Service.' For those planning to attend Ballyhenry we need to be in our seats at 9.45am to begin a final run through / practice. Our creche and children's provision (for P1-P3) will be operational from 9.30am. Older children should come into the service and they will be able to leave for Primetime after the Children's Talk. For those listening at home the service is due to start at 10.15am - full details by clicking here.

People go for walks in all kinds of places - in the park, down the street, into town, some have even gone for a walk in space! Over the past number of Sunday mornings we have been thinking of what it means to 'Walk the Walk' of life as a Christian - where we are, in the places where God has called us. This Sunday morning in Ballyhenry (11am) we conclude our series 'Walk the Walk' by looking at James 5:1-20. Our service will include 'Communion' (when we remember Jesus' death by sharing bread and wine together). We also have a full children's provision and supervised creche.
