This Sunday - 9th August

This Sunday we meet in Ballyhenry for our morning service at 11am. As usual music will be led by our Praise Group and there will be a supervised creche and summer Sunday School programme. Our Bible teaching this week comes from John 8 vs 12 where Jesus said 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.' Niall will be giving our talk thinking about how the image of light is developed in the Old Testament and how the New Testament writers applied their conviction that Jesus really was who He said He was. During the talk we hope to include the following quotation of CS Lewis:

‘A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic – on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg – or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse.’

This quotation comes from a book by Lewis entitled Mere Christianity. This book is avaliable (in print and for Kindle) from amazon.

We will also have oppportunity on Sunday to get the latest info on our upcoming Holiday Club (10th-14th Aug) and Meet the Neighbours (15th Aug).
