Presbyterians from across Ireland meet in Belfast

The annual general meeting of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (known as the General Assembly) takes place this week in Belfast. Over 1000 delegates from across the island will gather in The Assembly Buildings in Fisherwick Place.

The opening of the Assembly is broadcast live on BBC Radio Ulster (1341MW) on Monday at 7pm, when Rev Dr Michael Barry will be appointed as 'Moderator' for the incoming year. Throughout the week a whole variety of issues will be discussed by those attending, exploring from a range of angles how Christian faith impacts on life in twenty first century Ireland, North and South.
