Keeping the Pace with Ballyhenry

Keeping the Pace with Ballyhenry

It's been a week of activity and exercise in Ballyhenry. On Monday teams from the church took part in the Belfast Marathon, with 'Cliff's Crusaders' showing the way over the 26 mile course. Then in the afternoon a range of talents (!!) took to the field in a much anticipated local derby against our friends from Glengormley Presbyterian. Geoff McSparron was an early favourite for man of the match for a spectacularly taken headed goal, however honesty prevailed with Geoff admitting that he never actually touched the ball :) The game ended in a very honourable 2-2 draw. Thanks to Gerry (marathon) and Derek (football) for organising a really great day.

There are rumours that our runners and footballers will be greeting the faithful in church this Sunday morning - when we also will be taking in the next part of our series on the life of David (the story of Absalom, 2 Samuel 16-18), with Niall due to give the talk. (Full children's provision as usual). Then at 7pm we have a special evening with Dr Moyna Bill helping us to think biblically about the topic 'Life Matters' - as we explore a number of contemporary ethical issues current in the field of medicine and health care.

Give thanks for all we share in together ... pray for God's presence with us on Sunday ... and if you don't usually go to church, know that there is a place for you in Ballyhenry.
