Daily Strength - When moving forward

Daily Strength - When moving forward

‘Look to the Lord and his strength;

seek his face always.’ (1 Chronicles 16 vs 11 NIV)

There can be times in life when we don’t really know what to do and we aren’t really sure where to turn. Yet the challenge is that doing nothing often isn’t an option. Each new throws us into situations where we have choices to make, actions to take. Life goes on.

David is one of my favourite Bible characters. His faith is a tried and tested faith, a faith shaped from childhood, a faith grounded in God’s grace and sovereignty, always out ahead of David even when he was at his worst.

Today’s words from 1 Chronicles 16 are words of David. Here are words of someone who has been there. His words strongly encourage us to look to the Lord, even when there are other places that we can look. His words urge us to anticipate that there is strength to be found in the Lord. His words place before us a whole way of living; seeking His face always.

As we move forward into this new day here are words that go out ahead of, words that give us the confidence to get up and to get on finding a strength that we will not find within ourselves.

Prayer: Lord Jesus thank You for Your grace and Your sovereignty. Help me to look to You and to seek Your face always. Amen.
